Skalne Bramy [Rock Gates]

This rock formation is also known as the ‘Skalne Baszty’ [Rock Towers], and is to be found at approximately 600 m above sea level, above the Janówka Valley on the south-western slope of ‘Zamkowy Grzbiet’ [Castle Ridge].

The blue hiking trail, E-3 (Szwajcarka – Wołek – Skalnik), passes close to these rocks.

Towers over a dozen metres in height are the distinctive feature of this formation. The spaces between them form windows and interesting passages. One of the first rock climbers in the Rudawy Janowickie mountains, Walter Rosner, climbed the Rock Gates in the early 20th century. Up until 1945 the formation was classified as a monument of nature.
